• Warm room opens them faster, a cool room slows them down. You control the timing.
• Peak season runs roughly April to June in California. Outside it we source imports where quality allows, and we do not list them if the quality is not there.

Because a peony delivered fully open is already past its best. Closed buds give the recipient several days of the flower opening, which is most of the pleasure.

How do I make peonies open faster?

Put them somewhere warm. To slow them down, move them somewhere cool. Re-cut the stems and change the water every two days.

What can I send instead when peonies are out of season?

Ranunculus give a similar layered, ruffled look and are available far more of the year. Garden roses are the other close substitute.
